About the role
As an SMSTS Non-Working Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for monitoring and enforcing health and safety protocols across the construction site, ensuring that legal requirements and company standards are followed.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures promptly.
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth site operations.
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of safety documentation, including risk assessments and method statements.
- Supervise site access procedures to ensure only authorised personnel are present on-site.
- Provide guidance and support for safety training initiatives involving site personnel.
- Manage incident reporting processes, ensuring incidents are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
- Support the management team with planning and coordinating project milestones while maintaining health and safety compliance.
The role requires a proactive approach to site supervision, with a focus on identifying potential risks, maintaining accurate safety documentation and supporting the wider management team. Effective communication and coordination will be essential to maintaining safety standards and helping projects run efficiently.

Essential requirements

- Strong management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Experience overseeing large-scale projects with complex logistical requirements.

- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and project documentation confidently.
