The successful candidate will join an International Freight Forwarding team responsible for import and export operations and customs activities. The role is primarily focused on shipments to and from Asia for specific high street clients. This opportunity requires strong operational knowledge, leadership capability, and the ability to manage end-to-end freight forwarding processes across both air and sea freight.

About the role

As an International Freight Forwarding Team Leader, you will manage all aspects of import and export operations while acting as a key point of contact between customers, transport providers, and internal teams.

You will play an important role in ensuring shipments move efficiently, documentation is processed correctly, and customers receive accurate updates throughout the transportation process.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing all aspects of import and export processes
  • Covering key customers and liaising with headquarters in South Korea
  • Obtaining and communicating all necessary information internally and externally to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Acting as the link between shippers and consignees to provide up-to-date shipment information
  • Ensuring customers are fully informed of shipment progress
  • Providing transport companies with relevant information to meet delivery requirements
  • Ensuring correct documentation is maintained and processed in line with instructions
  • Completing customs entries
  • Maintaining files and ensuring accurate costing and billing in accordance with management procedures
  • Supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the department through additional duties as required

The role operates Monday to Friday, with working hours of 7.5 hours per day.

About you

To be successful in this International Freight Forwarding Team Leader position, you will demonstrate strong operational capability, organisation, and communication skills within a fast-paced logistics environment.

You should be comfortable managing freight forwarding activities from start to finish while maintaining high standards of accuracy and customer service.

Requirements include:

  • Fluent English language skills
  • Korean language skills are preferable
  • Experience in freight forwarding, including import/export and customs processes
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high levels of organisation and efficiency
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership capability and the ability to manage workflow
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Experience with ASM customs systems is advantageous
  • A desire to thrive in an international working environment
  • A valid visa permitting legal work in the UK
