Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 44.75 hours per week (average)
Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 3:15pm, plus alternate Saturdays, 6:00am – 10:30am

We are recruiting for an experienced Class 2 Driver in Gatwick to join a leading organisation within the waste management and environmental services sector.

Working as part of a busy transport operation, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection of waste materials across commercial customer sites while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
As a Class 2 Driver, your duties will include:
- Operating waste collection vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and reporting defects.
- Ensuring compliance with transport legislation, tachograph regulations and Working Time Directive requirements.
- Completing all transport documentation accurately.
- Reporting incidents, near misses and non-conforming waste.
- Maintaining high standards of vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness.
- Delivering excellent customer service at customer locations.
- Following all Health & Safety policies, procedures and risk assessments.
- Supporting operational requirements and overtime when required.

About the role
Skills and Experience Required
To be considered for this HGV Driver job in Gatwick, you will ideally have:
Essential
- Valid LGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
- Driver CPC qualification (Driver Qualification Card).
- Digital tachograph card.
- Previous experience operating waste collection vehicles.
- Good understanding of transport compliance and Health & Safety requirements.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Desirable
- Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
- ADR certification.
- Experience operating roll-on/roll-off vehicles, skip loaders or front-end loaders.
- Experience within waste management, recycling or environmental services.
