Recruitment Solutions is seeking an enthusiastic and technically minded Hazardous Waste Consultant to join our Clients Hazardous Waste Services team near Wallingford, Oxfordshire OX10

Working closely with the Assistant Commercial Manager, you’ll play an essential role in ensuring that all waste streams are evaluated, classified, and handled safely and compliantly. You’ll support commercial activity by preparing precise quotations and reviewing enquiries from a wide range of customers, using your knowledge of hazardous waste and chemistry.

About the role

-Produce prompt and accurate technical assessments, ensuring waste materials are correctly identified and classified.

  • -Communicate with customers to collect the details needed to create quotations, waste documentation, packing requirements, and labels.
  • -Record and manage all incoming sales enquiries in line with pre-acceptance procedures.
  • -Keep customers and colleagues updated throughout each enquiry, offering technical advice and excellent service.
  • -Build solid, professional relationships and work alongside the sales team to support business development and deliver complete waste management solutions.
  • -Conduct site visits as needed to review projects, check safety requirements, and gather accurate waste information for costing.
  • -Represent our Client at occasional industry events, trade shows, and recruitment fairs.
  • -Adhere to all company policies, including those concerning health, safety, and employment.
  • -Carry out any additional duties or projects requested by management that align with your skill set.

About you

  • -Minimum HNC in Chemistry or Environmental Science (degree preferred)
  • -Hands-on experience with chemicals and a solid understanding of associated risks
  • -Confident in analysing data and applying relevant legislation
  • -Strong track record of delivering excellent customer service
  • -Analytical thinker with good problem-solving skills and adaptability
  • -High attention to detail, with clear written and verbal communication
  • -Able to manage your workload independently while working effectively with others
  • -Proactive and keen to contribute to service improvements
  • -Competent with Microsoft Office software
