You’ll assist commercial activity by preparing accurate quotations and reviewing enquiries from a broad customer base, applying your knowledge of hazardous waste and chemistry to ensure full compliance and high standards of service.

About the role

    • Produce accurate and timely technical assessments to ensure waste materials are properly identified and classified.
    • Communicate with customers to gather details needed for quotations, waste documentation, packing instructions, and labelling.
    • Record and manage all incoming sales enquiries in accordance with pre-acceptance procedures.
    • Keep customers and colleagues informed throughout each enquiry, offering technical guidance and supporting excellent service delivery.
    • Build strong professional relationships and collaborate with the sales team to enable business development and complete waste management solutions.
    • Carry out site visits as required to review project details, confirm safety needs, and collect accurate information for costing.
    • Represent our client at occasional industry events, trade shows, and recruitment fairs.
    • Follow all company policies, including those relating to health, safety, and employment.
    • Undertake additional duties or projects requested by management that align with your skills.

About you

    • Minimum HNC in Chemistry or Environmental Science (degree preferred)
    • Practical experience working with chemicals and an understanding of associated risks
    • Confident analysing data and applying relevant legislation
    • Strong track record in delivering excellent customer service
    • Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability
    • High attention to detail and clear written and verbal communication skills
    • Able to manage your workload independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues
    • Proactive and motivated to contribute to service improvements
    • Competent with Microsoft Office software
