Recruitment Solutions are working with a market-leading distribution company seeking a dedicated and skilled HGV Class 2 Driver to join their transport team in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and efficiency, with the ability to complete multi-drop deliveries, load and unload stock alongside a Driver’s Mate, and follow all traffic regulations and company policies. Strong communication and a professional approach are essential.
In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating an HGV Class 2 vehicle to transport goods efficiently and securely. You will carry out pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and compliant with safety standards.
Key duties include loading and unloading stock, ensuring goods are handled and secured correctly, and maintaining clear communication with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and requirements. Accurate record-keeping is essential, including mileage logs and delivery confirmations.
You will follow all road safety regulations and company policies at all times, while delivering a high standard of customer service and resolving any delivery issues promptly. Basic mechanical checks may also be required to support vehicle reliability and operational efficiency.
To succeed in this Class 2 Driver job in Abingdon, you should have previous experience in delivery driving or commercial driving. Familiarity with warehouse operations would be beneficial.
You must be physically fit and capable of loading and unloading stock from the vehicle. A valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type is essential.
