Rigorous checks before placing your next Driver, FLT or Warehouse Operative

As one of the UK’s leading providers of Warehouse & Logistics staff, we’ve placed literally 1000’s of HGV, Van and FLT drivers over the years, helping our clients across the county to maintain the highest driver standards. Finding the perfect driver for your organisation isn’t always an easy task, but at Recruitment Solutions we’ve developed a seamless recruitment process to ensure your next driver is the ideal fit for your business.

However, before placing your next fork lift truck operator, driver or warehouse operative, we find it’s essential to consider whether they comply with our standards before we place them. In order to achieve this, we carry out detailed interview and suitability checks to ensure that your new driver or operative is well qualified and ready to work:

  1. Age and Experience?

Many of our clients Drivers Negligence Insurance policies are very stringent about the minimum age and experience for the driver to be insured. For these purposes only we only supply drivers that are aged 23 years and over and who hold a full driving licence clear of endorsements other than endorsements for speeding offences, parking offences, using a mobile phone or failing to comply with traffic light signals. We also do not supply drivers whose points for endorsements do not total 6 points or more

  1. Licence checks?

All driving and FLT operatives’ licences are checked in the initial recruitment process, photocopies of all our candidates licences are added to their records and stored on our database along with their RTW (Right To Work) documents, proof of National Insurance number, CPC cards and Digitacho cards. All drivers licences are rechecked every 3 MONTHS for any additional endorsements or disqualifications.

  1. Health Questionnaire, Numerical, Literacy aptitude tests?

As part of our interview and screening process, ALL candidates are required to complete our ‘health questionnaire’ so that any health conditions that may affect their ability to carry out their duties are identified immediately. There is also a standard short numeracy and literacy test to assess their mathematical and written abilities and finally an ‘Unspent criminal conviction’ question.
