With the construction sector continuing to flourish throughout 2015, it looks like the rate of expansion is set to increase further still in 2016 as the expansion of jobs becoming available continues to increase.
This became even more apparent from December’s recruitment figures, as the latest Markit/CIPS UK manufacturing employment index showed dramatic improvements from the previous month’s figures.
The December index posted a reading of 58.3 in December, up by over 2 points from 56.4 in November. This was the second highest reading of 2015, and as any reading over 50 indicates growth, this showed significant growth in the sector.
Meanwhile, the UK manufacturing purchasing managers’ (PMI) index registered 57.8 in December, which again was registered as a big rise from the 55.3 registered in November.
As one of the UK’s leading construction sector recruitment agencies we’ll be keeping en eye on this over the next few months’ to see how this continues to grow and whether the amount of jobs in the building sector continues to increase.
